Holmfirth Event

Last Sunday ( 24th June ) I took part in the Holmfirth Art Market. I'd been looking forward to the event for quite a while.Unfortunately the weather in the days leading up to the Market was terrible, with very heavy rainfall causing serious flooding in parts of Yorkshire. Luckily the weather improved, the rain held off and the sun shone.

The Art Market had about 50 Artist/Craftspeople showing a wide range of  very high quality work. The event was very well organised and had a relaxed feel to it. Lots of people came and I had some very interesting conversations. One conversation that stands out was with a couple who had been part of an artisan bakery co-operative.We talked about how do you keep a valuable tradition alive and  part of contemporary culture? Fascinating stuff.
I really enjoyed the day.
