Making Peels

The Makers Fair in Saltaire went really well. My demo of making a peels, or bakers shovel, was much less stressful than I had imagined.

This summer I've spent a lot of time refining the shape of the peels and learning how to cut and carve the wood..I use only simple hand tools - wooden spokeshaves, a travisher, a small block plane and carving knives.
